Succession Certificate/ Legal heir ship certificate/ Probate/ letter of Administration

Succession Certificate: If the person dies intestate i.e without a will then to claim his movable assets you need to approach court and court issue legal document to claim assets. This is only for movable assets.

Legal heir ship Certificate: is important for establishing relation between deceased person and their rightful successors. For claiming insurance or family pension or transferring property you require legal heir ship certificate.

Probate: Court supervised legal process use to validate the Will. Person left behind a will distributing his property court verifies the authenticity of the will and appoints the executor or administrator to distribute assets as per will.

Letter of Administration:  when person dies without will apply when there is no will (or no valid executor) and the court must appoint an administrator to settle the estate under intestacy rules

Succession certificate is for movable assets and require especially when person dies without a will.

legal heirship is mostly when you want to inherit property or want to claim family pension most of the time specifically for Claiming Government titles.

Probate is require for validating will and letter of administration court appoint administrator to settle the estate.
